July 2024

With 16-year-old Daniel's help our lawn stays mown and needed weeding done.  He's done lots of work for his grandpa (Poppy) this summer swathing hay and helping John move from field to field.

In July Jonathan trimmed his beard and I was happy.  While in the dentist's chair waiting for the cap on a tooth to be formed and after a tough filling, I ordered new red sneakers from my phone.  Sense of entitlement to receive some kind of a gift for having to go to the dentist?  And on the 13th we celebrated John's July 15 birthday--he turned 72 years old!!!  Doesn't look it.

Our LoJo is 12 years old as of July 8.  We celebrated with roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, and garden fresh corn and green beans.  Logan had his mom make a pina colada cake for his celebration and then on the day of his birthday a chocolate pudding cake!  Hey, 12th birthdays are special!!

Irma celebrated her 96th birthday with two family gatherings the first on June 29th for her traditional breakfast and the second on July 4th at noon.  Here she is with her five great grandchildren.
