Home run contest!
Moose does not mind garden snakes in my flowers but I am not fond of being surprised by a wiggly little visitor.
On the 19th I had the grand boys over for lunch. What fun! First a home run contest with the Blitz Ball set. Then a red slider turtle in the ditch (great excitement), two small garden snakes which they valiantly attempted to relocate from my flower garden but “Sorry Grammy, one got away…”. Then an unusually colored cricket (Can you get a jar, quick?) and finally there was a monarch caterpillar far from a host plant. So they captured it and took it home to their milkweed patch.
There was an intense game of Chess between the older two, and an indoor game of “Rollers,” a new game I found for them at Etsy. It is definitely meant to be an outdoor game but nothing was broken although it involves rolling wooden disks at high velocity.
There was also a small wasp of unknown variety on the windowsill inside the house and they captured it.
I fed them spaghetti and meatballs for lunch along with pull apart bread and they were lavish with their praise of my culinary skill! Oh my goodness what a fun day. Love those boys.
Here is beautiful Bekah with her first ever sewing projects for 4-H! So happy she is learning to sew and she is a natural at modeling. And this baby girl pages through a book from left to right, orienting the book properly, and tells herself the story in amazing-to-Grammy pre-reading virtuosity! On this day she was gaining some helpful organizational and housekeeping tips. Her Mom said, "Kathryn are you learning about cleaning and organizing?" And Kathryn replied, "Yah!"
